Beijing Bound

 To be honest, it is slightly annoy to approach Tiananmen Square due to many security check. There are many normal policemen and armed policemen every 20 metre.  However, many tourists seems to enjoy taking photo there.

Train run still on the railroad...

Between YEKATERINBURG and Perm 2

Kirov station on Friday morning

It was snowing among the railroad. Everyday, outside of the car it was minus degree in the middle of October.

From morning until midnight the restaurant car offered meals, however, some menu could not be offered due to the lack of foodstuff. It might be individual profit and loss account in each resaurant car...and seemed to not be any replenishment for the car during the journey.

At last, the train reach Moscow (Ярославский вокзал). However, it was raining at that time, it was difficult to take any photographs.

The timetable of Vostok (Train Number 19)

The train got to Omsk at Thursday morning

Kiosk sold ice creams

Korean instant noodle, it is one of the most popular food during the journey. I highly recommend to get favourite food before starting the journey.

Solianka soup is a thick, spicy and sour soup in Russian and Ukrainian cuisine.

The timetable of Vostok (Train Number 19)

The train arrived at Irkutsk (Иркутск)  on Tuesday evening.

 
Elektrichka (Электричка) type Эл4M waited for passengers.
 
you can enjoy old song about elektrichka!

I bought milk at the kiosk in Irkutsk.

The train run and stopped at Nizhneudinsk (НИЖНЕУДИНСК) midnight.
 

We can see a lot of Soviet-style public housings (Социальное жильёas same as Japanese-Danchi)....
 
Steam locomotive was set as monument in Krasnoyarsk (Wednesday).
 
I got bread and ham at the station.

The timetable of Vostok (Train Number 19)

We can see Russian daily life thought the window.
People felt rerax...

Moreover, you recognise the importance about track maintenance.
There were a lot kind of track maintenance cars

 Diesel locomotive

You can get special local food during the journey. For instance, you need to get 'Омул' omul (smoked fish) is one of popular friends of vodka.
  
The train made brief stop at Slyudyanka...Railway station...

I found a Russian beauty (and dog) in Слюдя́нка(Slyudyanka)..But in this time, she was not my target:P 
 People who sold omul (smoked fish) in Слюдя́нка(Slyudyanka), rushed towards the train, once the train arrived. Because the train stopped only a few minutes..


 It was oily but tasty...

Unfortunately, it was not full-smoked, but half-smoked fish.. Therefore, I had got diarrhea....

The trans Siberian Railway Part 4

The train runs among Lake Baikal
 


Local stations are passed through.

 

We can often see freight stations.


Some buildings of station are similar design because most of them were built during Soviet-era.

 
We sometimes find joke-paint (Cossacks!)

 
After the collapse of the USSR, re-painting buildings are often seen.


Small kiosks are very useful,
 
Next day, we can see the Lake....
